Our school

Niles Preparatory Academy is a public charter school serving students from kindergarten through 5th grade in Niles, Ohio. Ohio grades every school on a 0-to-100 Performance Index. Niles Prep scored a 95.3 for the 2024–25 school year, up from an 86.9 the year before. That's a 10% increase in one year, and it puts the school among the top 35% of all Ohio schools. The state gave it 4 stars overall. The school is built around rigorous academics — reading, math, science, and social studies — taught at a level that actually challenges students. This isn't enrichment layered on top of standard instruction. The academics are the instruction. Every lesson is built to push students to think harder, read more closely, and solve problems that don't have obvious answers. That rigorous academic culture comes with real support around it: counseling resources for families navigating tough moments, a dress code that keeps the focus on learning, and regular field trips that give students experiences beyond the classroom walls. Niles Preparatory Academy is a public, community school. We are our own school district sponsored by Charter School Specialists, which provides oversight and enforces academic, fiscal, and legal accountability.
